Pool Vacuuming - Skimming
Leaves, dirt, bugs, there’s no shortage of materials that can quickly pile up in your pool. While proper circulation will take out most of the smaller things, those that float to the bottom can stick to the floor, and will require a proper vacuuming job to take out. There is no hard and fast rule to when you have to vacuum your pool, depending on the seasons, weather, and how well the pool is covered, it is usually only done when visibly needed. For most pool owners, that would mean about one vacuuming per week.
That being said, pools that are used more often tend to need vacuuming less frequently. Since the water is moving around more often, that improves the circulation and gives more chance for the dirt to be filtered out of the pool instead of settling to the bottom. If you are not somebody who uses their pool on a regular basis, it may be that you will need to vacuum your pool more often.
At Blue Chip Pool Service, we find vacuuming to be one of the most interesting parts of the pool cleaning process.
